John receives Academic Awards

In 2016 he received All Academic Team Region 14 NJCAA in Basketball and was selected as the outstanding chemistry student at Jacksonville College. Also, John was one of two students in the entire College to graduated summa cum laude (4.0)

Overview of John Hale's Basketball and Junior College Career




  • John 6’ 0” 185 pounds has played a combo guard – John is a scorer (3pts, driving to the rim, and setting-up other players) and in his final year of high school basketball he played more point guard.  He learned man to man defense from his coach Andrew Storm (coached Aggieland one year) the same high school defensive coach as Alex Caruso.  John has expanded his shooting to NBA 3 pt range.

  • Jacksonville College 2014-2016 - John was red shirted his Freshman year at Jacksonville College Region 14 NJCAA and played this year.  Therefore he has three years of eligibility.
  • 4.0 GPA at Jacksonville - In 2016 he received All Academic Team Region 14 NJCAA in Basketball and was selected as the outstanding chemistry student at Jacksonville College. Also, John was one of two students in the entire College to graduated summa cum laude with a 4.0 GPA. 
  • Scored a total 2432 points in three years of Varsity High School Aggieland Homeschool Basketball  and average 17.4 points per game over 140 games. In 2013 John's team won the Division II National Homeschool Championship, with John averaging 30.2 points over the four game championship run.  In 2014 John's team were ranked in the top 10 in the nation of all Homeschool teams.
  • All American in 2013 in a group that included HCYA Warriors, Justin Jackson (UNC) and OKC Storm Chauncey Collins (OU), both played in the NCAA Final Four in 2016. Among all homeschool high school basketball players John was selected an Homeschool Basketball All American in 2013  John was All State 2012, 2013, and 2014. 
  • Names All Brazos Valley Team in 2014 – The Eagle Sports Writers named John to the top 15 basketball players in the Brazos Valley.
  • John has a high basketball IQ - I coached John 9 years, up until his senior year in High School.  Tanner Field was the head coach his last year.  John got to watch a lot of film with me and coaching clinic series as I tried to improve my expertise. I served as Varsity head coach 2 years and Athletic Director for Aggieland for 4 years.
  • John has been accepted in Biological and Agricultural Engineering and will start this summer – John had the opportunity to play basketball at other Universities, however he wanted to study engineering at Texas A&M University.
